Communing with trees
Humans have worshipped trees from time immemorial. They are the silent sentinels, the watchers in the woods, the guardians of the ground, the knowledge keepers. I cannot recall when my own love and passion for trees first began but then maybe it never did just begin, maybe it was always there intricately woven into the very fabric of my being.
As scientist continue to unravel more and more of the genome of plants and animals our knowledge of our connections with other species continues to deepen. So maybe when I hug a tree or bimble through the woods those building blocks of life I share with my woody dryad cousins begin to sing in harmony and for a magical moment we connect on a level we humans have yet to fully understand.
